Dan Xuereb
Founder & CEO
Daniel Xuereb is a Maltese stand-up comedian recognized for his candid, boundary-pushing humor. He founded Wild Comedy Malta in 2023 following legal challenges after a comedy skit in which he referred to evangelical pastor Gordon Manché as "Malta’s biggest asshole."
The skit, shared on social media, led to criminal charges of insulting Manché and misusing electronic equipment to threaten him. However, the court acquitted Xuereb, determining that the remarks were not credible threats but part of a comedic performance.
Xuereb's experiences have sparked discussions in Malta about freedom of expression and the role of satire in society. His case highlighted tensions between artistic expression and legal boundaries, leading to broader conversations about the rights of comedians and artists in the country.
Beyond stand-up, Xuereb also hosted "The Danhood Podcast" from 2022-2024 which featured candid conversations with guests on relationships and gender dynamics, and garnered millions of views across social media. He has also appeared as a guest on the Bajd u Bejken podcast, and is currently starring in the Kunsill Lokali web series.
